Our Doctors
Dr. Michael Nixon:
Dr. Nixon grew up in Hamilton and Niagara region before moving to London in his early 20s. Before pursuing dentistry, he was an addictions counselor working in a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.
Dr. Nixon decided to follow a career in oral health care while taking his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at Western University. Dr Nixon completed his Honors Health Science degree in 2005 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009, both at Western University. He worked as an associate dentist in Arkona and London before establishing his practice in St Marys in 2011. Dr Nixon enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has completed training in implant surgery and orthodontics since graduating from dental school. Dr Nixon currently lives with his wife and three children 15 minutes west of London. When not practicing dentistry, Dr Nixon enjoys golf, playing guitar and singing, and riding his motorcycle.
Dr. Karl Weselan:
Dr. Weselan graduated from Western Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry in 1992. After associating for 3 years, he decided to open his own practice in St. Marys in 1995. Dr. Weselan has been providing general dental services to families in the area since then. In his spare time, he enjoys staying physically active and participating in a variety of sports and activities.
Dr. Reem Amayem:
Dr. Amayem came to Canada from Egypt at a young age, calling the city of Sarnia home during her upbringing. Later, she moved to London, where she pursued her education at Western University. It was during her third year of undergraduate studies that her unwavering commitment to a healthcare career took shape.
In 2019, Dr. Amayem proudly earned her Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree, followed by her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2023, both accomplished at Western University. Dr. Amayem loves all aspects of general dentistry and is dedicated to patient-centered care, to provide the best treatment for her patients. Dr. Amayem currently resides in London and enjoys spending her free time with her family and travelling. She joined St Marys Dentistry in June 2023 and is excited to be a part of the team!
